Qantas announced for all of 747-400s retirement details on their news room.

Qantas has 10 747-400s (747-400×4 and 747-400ER×6) in 2018. All of their 747-400 series retirement until end of 2020. they decided to additional order for 787-9×6 and replace for all of 747-400s. They will introduce total 14 787-9 until 2021. And it will be main aircraft for long haul flight to European routes.

Current Qantas 747-400 will retirement start from July 2018 (it might VH-OEB oldest aircraft in QF fleet) I guess all of normal type of 747-400 will retirement until 2019 depending on delivery of 787-9 current orders.

Other type of 747-400 (747-400ER) will retirement by end of 2020. The latest 747-400ER (VH-OEJ) delivered on July 30, 2003. It is only 17 years flying at Qantas fleet when it will retirement from their fleet on 2020.

In 2020, Qantas completed upgrading for A380 and welcome new 787-9 then changed to new generations.
